Tuscarora State Park is a peaceful, family-friendly escape in Barnesville, centered on the 96-acre Tuscarora Lake and surrounded by woods, meadows, and the slopes of Locust Mountain. It is an especially nice choice for a picnic, a quiet walk, or a summer day swim at the beach. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, although the beach and other facilities operate on seasonal schedules.

Guests can fish from shore or the accessible fishing pier, hike the park’s easy-to-moderate trails, or bring their own canoe, kayak, paddleboard, rowboat, or electric-motor boat to use on the lake. The lake has a public boat launch and mooring facilities, but guests should plan to bring their own watercraft.
