St. Mark’s & St. John’s Episcopal Church Walking Tours

Church exterior

St. Mark’s & St. John’s Episcopal Church is one of Jim Thorpe’s most impressive historic interiors and a must for visitors interested in architecture, art, and local history. Built between 1867 and 1869 in the Gothic Revival style, this National Historic Landmark features original Minton tile floors, black-walnut woodwork, an original Otis elevator, a pipe organ, and striking stained-glass windows—including works by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Guided church tours are offered seasonally from May through October, generally Thursday through Sunday, and last about 30 minutes. The church also offers walking tours of historic Jim Thorpe by request, select cemetery tours, and even donut-and-coffee tours with Donerds Donuts. Private tours can be arranged, and checking the online tour schedule before visiting is recommended.
